Metal detector plays a very important role in the food processing process, so what role does it play? Today Xiaobian will take you to understand.
Food packaging is an integral part of food. It protects food, makes food in the factory process to consumers, to prevent the damage of biological, chemical, physical external factors, it can also play a role in maintaining the stability of the quality of food itself. As people pay more attention to food safety and have higher requirements, some countries have strengthened the supervision and management of food packaging. From the implementation of nutrition standard regulations, indirect additive regulations, etc. to the implementation of degradable packaging, electronic scanning of bar codes, etc., are promoting the new development of food packaging.
There may be potential physical hazards in different production processes in different food production processes, and these hazards mainly come from four ways. First, raw materials: such as vaccination needles in meat, metal wire in wheat, sieve wire in powder, fish hooks in fish, small metal parts and screws in vegetable machinery equipment. Second, human factors: such as buttons, pens, jewelry, coins, keys, watches and so on. Third, maintenance process: such as metal wire, small tools, welding slag cleaning, repair process. Fourth, production equipment: such as crushers, mixers, slicing machines and conveying systems in the production process of metal debris.
Food companies can eliminate physical hazards caused by these causes through manual testing, industrial filters, strong magnetic rods, or metal detectors. However, in order to reduce labor costs and obtain stable detection results, metal detection machines have become one of the widely used methods. It can help manufacturers strictly comply with regulations, timely detection of metal foreign bodies in the production process, timely detection of potential hazards and dangerous external factors, including iron, non-ferrous metals and non-magnetic stainless steel.
The accuracy and reliability of the metal detector depends on the stability of the electromagnetic transmitter frequency, which usually uses an operating frequency of 80 to 800 kHz. The lower the operating frequency, the better the iron detection performance; The higher the operating frequency, the better the detection performance of high carbon steel. The sensitivity of the detector decreases with the increase of the detection range, and the size of the sensing signal depends on the size of the metal particles and the conductivity.
Due to current pulsation and current filtering, the metal detector has a certain limit on the transmission speed of the detected item. If the transmission speed exceeds a reasonable range, the sensitivity of the detector will decrease.
In order to ensure that the sensitivity does not decrease, it is necessary to choose a suitable metal detector to adapt to the product being tested. In general, the detection range is controlled to a minimum as far as possible, and for products with good high-frequency sensitivity, the detector channel size should match the product size. The adjustment of the detection sensitivity should be determined by referring to the center of the detection coil, and the center position has the lowest induction. The detected value of the product will change with the change of production conditions, such as the change of temperature, product size, humidity, etc., which can be adjusted and compensated by the control function.
Spheres are repeatable, have the smallest surface area, and are the most difficult to detect with metal detectors. Therefore, the microsphere can be used as a reference sample for detection sensitivity. For non-spherical metals, the detection sensitivity largely depends on the location of the metal, and different locations have different cross-sectional areas, and the detection effect is different. For example, iron is more sensitive when passing lengthwise; High carbon steel and non-ferrous metals are less sensitive. When passing laterally, iron is less sensitive, while high-carbon steel and non-iron are more sensitive.
In the food industry, systems typically use higher operating frequencies. For foods such as cheese, the response to high-frequency signals increases proportionally due to their inherently good high-frequency sensing properties. Wet fat or salt substances such as bread, cheese, sausage have the same electrical conductivity as metals, in which case the compensation signal must be adjusted to reduce the sensing sensitivity to prevent the system from sending out an erroneous signal.
